The block drivers provide a standardised interface to many serial devices, including pseudo-devices such as pipes. They are supported by most Acorn communications software (ARCterm, Hearsay, Freenet, KA9Q, Binkleyterm, ARCbbs, Connector, ARMbbs, Archiboard, ZANSI, ARCfax and so on).
